Independently, the same year the BBC hired screenwriter Maggie Wadey to adapt and finish the novel for a television serial adaptation, which was produced by the BBC and American PBS broadcaster WGBH, and screened on BBC One in the UK and in the Masterpiece Theatre strand in the United States, airing in 1995. As a result the novel has two different endings. A previous television series was produced by ITC Entertainment in 1956.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_BuccaneersDavehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09789019849049422158noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432466385982830330.post-15971485742397546252009-10-11T15:05:02.572-04:002009-10-11T15:05:02.572-04:00I am SO glad you reviewed his novel - I loved Bobb...I am SO glad you reviewed his novel - I loved Bobba Fett Blues and am gald he found a publisher - THANK GAWD FOR INDIE PUBLISHERS!

I will have to check out his book :)Kathryn Magendiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863595228298349863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432466385982830330.post-80648089163028033242009-09-10T13:47:00.493-04:002009-09-10T13:47:00.493-04:00Interesting review. Wish I could have written a longer and even more detailed review, but (borrowing a colloquialism from my friends to the south) y'all know I'm pressed for time these days. To me, ...This is a fine review of a very fine book. To me, the most haunting part is the section on the lake. Reyes communicated with the devil, making a very similar deal to the one made at the Cross Roads by Robert Johnson... Yet it is the prose that makes the whole story so tough to put down. It just sort of happened, but novel length is different. In this case the novel is essentially notes the author wrote to himself so it was more like talking to himself and the second person felt natural. In a more standard narrative, I don't think it would work as well.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12456734276020287727noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432466385982830330.post-77066418922316121932009-02-16T10:05:00.000-05:002009-02-16T10:05:00.000-05:00wow - all in second peson - I have a hard time wit...wow - all in second peson - I have a hard time with second person, too, unless its in very small doses and done very well --hmmm, sounds intriguing, though....!Kathryn Magendiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863595228298349863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3432466385982830330.post-76502968831117179982009-01-15T10:59:00.000-05:002009-01-15T10:59:00.000-05:00hate hate stock or flat characters!hate hate stock or flat characters!Kathryn Magendiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12863595228298349863noreply@blogger.com
